Akin Fatunmbi

Music for Fun Group Leader
Area: Music for Fun
hello@ecas.scot

I have been a care worker, support worker, development worker and service manager since moving to Edinburgh in 1996. Previously in London, I had most enjoyed working as a peripatetic music group facilitator for various boroughs, often with groups with additional support needs. I have a strong commitment to social care, particularly mental health and the broad therapeutic value of engaging with music, so I have been pleased to return to supportive community making services in the last few years.

I continue to be an active musician, performing professionally with groups at many events across Scotland including the Edinburgh Festival, Edinburgh Mela, BBC Scotland live broadcasts (2015), festivals and venues from Inverness to the Borders. I am also a member of Sound Sense, the UK professional association promoting community music and supporting community musicians.

What clients say about Music for Fun

Brilliant.

Kevin

The group is a lot of fun and full of talent. I enjoy playing different instruments, rediscovering songs from a long time ago and also new ones.
