Seated Ta Chi for Disabled Adults
Tuesdays 1.15-3.15pm
Ecas, Norton Park, Albion Road EH7 5QY
On a physical level, Tai Chi improves strength, flexibility and balance. It’s been proven to improve cardiovascular fitness, strengthen the immune system, reduce joint pain, lower blood pressure… and much more!
There are also many emotional and mental benefits. The gentle movements help people to feel more relaxed, grounded and present in their bodies. This lowers anxiety, stress and depression, while improving memory, focus and sleep.
The Ecas Seated Tai Chi experience offers a space where each participant is supported by the whole group, enabling each person to develop their individual way of practising the fluid, graceful, circular and slow movements.
The session always includes a wee break, an opportunity to catch up and share a story or a poem over tea, coffee and biscuits. There are always lots of smiles and laughter.
Available in person and online via Zoom.

I very much enjoy the company and all the Tai Chi movements – all very helpful. Socialising is very important when many are isolated.

The Tai Chi movements and awareness of breathing helps to lift my mood, keeps me calm and improves coordination. I am enjoying meeting new people and learning movements I can practice at home.
