Having studied social work at Edinburgh University for three years, I then trained as a swimming teacher. I initially volunteered with Ecas at the swimming group in 2011 and then took up the role as swimming group leader for maternity cover for a period of time. I then moved to a swimming coordinator role with a large leisure company managing a large swimming programme for children and adults. In 2015 I returned to Ecas as swimming group leader.
I have experience of working in disability sport as well as a keen personal interest in wheelchair racing, para-triathlon, hand-cycling as well as competitive experience in para-archery.
My love for swimming and passion for teaching are both aspects of my work with the Ecas swimming group that I find very rewarding.
What clients say about Swimming
Having the opportunity to get in the water and stretch my legs has helped me be more comfortable not only when in the pool but in my day to day life. The swimming group has definitely had a positive impact on me.
The swimming group has really helped me with my confidence in the water and has also helped me to get out and be more sociable.
