Megan Hood

Outreach Officer
megan@ecas.scot
07464 871 733

Megan joined the Ecas team to develop the services for young people, and is excited about the opportunity. She has a BSc in Social Work and always wanted to work in the third sector. She’s volunteered for a number of different charities over the past 14 years, including community work with VSO, counselling with Childline, befriending and group work with Edinburgh Headway Group, and the play scheme with The Yard. She was also a Team Facilitator for a charity that supports people with learning disabilities to live independently where she managed and developed the support services for individuals and coordinated the support staff.

Over the years, her work experience has also included working in a number of different hospitality venues across Edinburgh, including pubs, cafes and restaurants, all of which allowed her to enjoy her fair share of tasty drinks and food. Although she doesn’t call herself a foodie, she loves eating, cooking and baking, and sharing this love with friends. She also enjoys playing board games, going for walks around Edinburgh’s nature spots, and finding bargains in the charity shops.

What clients say about Ecas

We feel confident now and realise we can do things we couldn’t do before but we can do them now!

Barbara

Thank you Ecas for supporting us to go on a holiday. The cottage has been great: wheelchair accessible with amazing views around.

The Dukan family

(My befriender) brings the outside world in.

Margaret

The group is a fantastic way to come together and talk about things: books; our lives; what’s important to us.

David

Ecas: a good place to be.
